Breaking News - LeBron James 'calling star players' in bid to build new super team

LeBron James has started making calls to potential team-mates as he looks to build a roster capable of challenging the Golden State Warriors, according to reports.James will become an unrestricted free agent on Sunday when he opts out of his Cleveland Cavaliers deal, meaning he is able to sign with any team he chooses.  And the four-time Most Valuable Player has reportedly contacted a number of star players across the league as he plans to construct a new super team.    RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next Cavaliers having 'really good dialogue' with LeBron James as... Share this article Share According to the Southern California News Group, James is in talks with prospective team-mates as he considers his options ahead of the start of free agency. One Eastern Conference team's general manager said: 'LeBron is doing what he does - calling players on other teams that he wants to play with.'  James previously recruited Chris Bosh before joining the Miami Heat in 2010 and sought reassurances that Cleveland would trade for Kevin Love before rejoining his hometown team in 2014.  Reports indicate James is planning to do something similar in this free agency, with Los Angeles Lakers the bookies' favourite destination for a new super team.  Three players James is interested in teaming up with are San Antonio Spurs' Kawhi Leonard, Houston Rockets' Chris Paul and Oklahoma City Thunder's Paul George.Re-signing with Cleveland looks unlikely despite Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman claiming the team have been holding a 'really good dialogue' with James.  James' Cavaliers were swept 4-0 by Golden State earlier this month as the two franchises met for the fourth straight time in the NBA Finals.  Leonard is unhappy with his situation in San Antonio and refused to attend Spurs' play-off matches this season while Chris Paul is close friends with James.
